Frequently asked

How do I calculate CPV?

CPV = ad spend divided by views. $500 of spend that generates 20,000 views is $0.025 per view. The same formula inverts: views = budget / CPV, and budget = target views x CPV.

What is a good CPV?

Against Q1 2026 Store Growers data, YouTube skippable in-stream averages $0.024 per view, with an industry spread from $0.018 (CPG) to $0.058 (legal). Inside that band is normal; judge against your vertical's end, not the blended average.

Why can't I compare CPV across platforms directly?

View definitions differ. YouTube bills at 30 seconds or an interaction, TikTok counts 2-second and 6-second focused views, Meta's ThruPlay bills at 15 seconds or completion. A 2-second view and a 30-second view are different products at different prices.

Do platforms publish CPV rates?

No. Google, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and X all price by auction and publish no per-view rate card. TikTok publishes minimum budgets ($50/day campaign, $20/day ad group). Benchmarks here are third-party market observations, always with source and vintage.
